What an affiliate link is

When a guide lists a material — wall plugs, filler, a length of skirting — we show buttons to look it up at UK retailers. Some of those may be affiliate links: if you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small percentage of the sale as commission.

You pay exactly the same price either way.The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.

Where we are today — being straight with you

At the time of writing we have not yet joined any affiliate programme, and no tracking tags are attached to any link on the site. Right now these are plain links and we earn nothing from them.

This page exists so the disclosure is in place from day one rather than bolted on afterwards. If that changes, this page changes with it.

How this affects our advice — it does not

This is the part that matters, so we will be blunt about it.

• Our guides are written first, and materials are listed because the job needs them. Commission plays no part in what a guide says.
• We do not accept payment from retailers or manufacturers to recommend a product, and we do not write sponsored guides.
• We link to several retailers for the same item so you can compare, rather than pushing you at one.
• We would rather tell you that you do not need something than sell you it.

Every affiliate link is marked up as sponsored, opens in a new tab, and carries a short note where it appears. If you would rather not use them, search for the item yourself — that is completely fine.

Advertising

The free plan is supported by ads. Paid plans — including the one-off Basic plan — remove them entirely. Ads are never dressed up as guide content.

Cookies

HomeGraft itself uses strictly necessary cookies only: they keep you logged in and keep the payment flow secure. We do not run third-party analytics or tracking cookies.

Retailer cookies are different.When you click through to a retailer, they may set their own cookies — including one that records that you arrived from us, so any commission can be attributed. That happens on their site, under their cookie policy and their privacy policy, and it is outside our control. You can decline or clear those cookies in your browser, or on the retailer's own consent banner.
