Measure your window recess, choose a matching no-drill blind kit, then clip it into place without touching a drill.
AB-01Measure the window recessMeasure the width of the recess at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest figure. Measure the depth of the recess too, so you know the blind will fit without fouling the handle or any trickle vent. Write both measurements down before you order or buy anything.
AB-02Choose and check your no-drill blind kitBuy a no-drill blind sized to your smallest recess width, with a little clearance either side so the brackets seat properly. Check the pack for spring-loaded or tension brackets designed to grip inside the uPVC frame — these need no screws or drilling. Check the kit includes end caps or clips that suit a uPVC frame, not a wooden one, as fittings differ.
1 each · No-drill blind kit (sized to recess) AB-03Clean and dry the frameWipe the inside of the recess with a damp cloth to remove dust, grease and any old sticky residue. Dry it fully — damp or greasy uPVC stops spring brackets gripping properly. Check the frame surface is flat where the brackets will sit, with no bulging trim or damaged bead in the way.
1 each · Mild window cleaning spray AB-04Fit the top brackets into the recessSlot the two top brackets into the sides of the recess, following the kit instructions for left and right — they are often not identical. Push each one firmly until the spring tension locks it against the frame. Give both a firm tug to check neither one moves before you go further.
AB-05Attach the blind to the bracketsLine the blind headrail up with the fitted brackets and click it into place — most kits snap on without tools. Check the blind sits level and square in the recess, not tilted to one side. If it's crooked, unclip it and check the brackets are seated at the same depth on both sides.
AB-06Test the operation and adjustRaise and lower the blind a few times, and check it clears the window handle fully when opened. Check the cords or wand sit clear of any child or pet, and use any safety cleat or tensioner supplied with the kit. Adjust the bracket depth slightly if the blind rubs the glass or the frame as it moves.
AB-07Tidy upWipe any fingerprints off the frame and glass with a dry cloth. Keep the packaging until you're sure the blind fits and operates well, in case you need to return it. Store any spare clips or fixings from the kit somewhere you'll find them again.
