ST-01Check the concrete floor is readyThe floor must be flat, dry, clean and free of dust, oil or old adhesive. A new concrete slab needs roughly 6 weeks' drying time per 25mm thickness before tiling, so don't rush a fresh pour. Check for damp with a damp meter if you're unsure, and check for a damp-proof membrane if the slab is at ground level. If the room has underfloor heating, turn it off at least 24 hours before you start and leave it off until the adhesive and grout have fully cured.
