RL-03Choose the right fixing for each timberOn a solid fence post, use two stainless or zinc-plated coach screws, at least 60mm long, one above the other so the bracket can't twist under pull. On a shed wall, screw through the cladding into a frame member you've located, using the same screws. If the reel's fixing holes don't line up with a frame member, screw a timber batten at least 300mm long across two frame members first, then mount the reel bracket onto the batten - never rely on cladding alone, as sideways pull works screws loose within weeks.
