BR-02Mark the fixing points and check for hazardsHold the rack against the wall, level it, and mark the hole centres in pencil. Before drilling, run a cable and pipe detector slowly over the marked area — but treat this as a guide, not proof: detectors miss cables that are deep, in metal conduit, or outside the usual safe zones. Find your stopcock (usually under the kitchen sink) and check it turns freely, so you can shut off the water fast if you hit a pipe. If you have any doubt at all, isolate the relevant circuit at the consumer unit before drilling.
