Fit anti-slip nosings to stair tread edges, checking for hidden cables before drilling, to make stairs safer and longer-lasting.
Building Regulations (Approved Document K) set minimum tread depths and limits on nosing overhang for stairs. A simple like-for-like nosing swap doesn't normally need building control involvement, but changing the tread depth or profile significantly could count as a material alteration - check first if you're unsure.
