HB-02Find solid timber, not thin claddingOn a fence, always fix into a main post, never into a thin fence panel slat or trellis top — those will split or pull straight out under load. On a shed, tap along the wall: cladding boards sound hollow, but you'll hear a dull, solid knock where a vertical corner post or internal frame timber sits behind. Existing screws or nail lines often mark where the frame is, and shed corners and the timber around doors and windows are always solid.
